I have said it before and I’ll say it again: I love this time of year. Fall is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. We have certainly made the most our time as a family of three before becoming a family of four.
We have gotten a lot of yard work done, which for mommy and daddy is a chore, but for Caleb it’s an outside adventure. He loved planting flowers, raking leaves, putting dirt in his bucket, watering the yard, and of course, mowing the lawn.
Round two at the berry farm, we had a much larger group with us. My family, Paul’s dad and his grandparents, all came. It was just as much fun, if not more than last time. It was nice to have my sisters with us, because they were willing to take Caleb down the pipeline slide. Last time Paul had to go down 20 ish times! We made it to the pumpkin patch and each got to pick out a pumpkin for free. I think being in a field of pumpkins was Caleb’s favorite part. We also ran into some friends while we were there!
Caleb is in love with anything pumpkin. We have seen It’s a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown countless times, especially when Caleb was sick with a throat virus (probably the biggest downfalls of this season are the colds running around). His Gamma bought him a Charlie Brown book that comes with storytelling stickers, and…well, let’s just say he plays with it almost all day. He also let’s me read him the book from start to finish…occasionally.
Fall has also brought us (well, not really us) a new baby, that was 10 days late. Yes, baby Ariel Joy Ashley finally arrived and we couldn’t be happier for our dear friends. In the group of babies, Ariel and Jessa will be the closest in age. Jolie, Caleb, and Ellie are only a few months apart. It is so special to have friend’s with children so close in age. We learn so much from each other.
